About

Get To Know Me

Born in Belgium, my roots within Africa began with my grand-parents and parents living many years in Congo. At the age of two, my turn came to discover a country of many adventures and rainbow colours, South Africa.

I spent seven years of my childhood in Johannesburg and three years in Pietermaritzburg. Witnessing on one hand the terrible segregation system and on the other discovering the magnificence of the bush and its wildlife, I understood at a young age the importance of a life, regardless of the species. I started questioning myself on the interaction between humans and nature and the effect on the ecosystem. I strongly believe that a sustainable future for the planet can only be achieved if both animals and people are part of the solution.

I have a natural attraction to wildlife conservation related matters, but I’m also a humanitarian, eager to support local communities, whilst learning from them too. I strive to live my life sharing my passion, entwined with education, awareness and leadership.

Beyond Treetops & How It Came To Be

After spending several years in Africa, and travelling the world, I realized how vital it is for me to be part of the solution in trying to make this world a safer place, protecting its natural beauties and gifts – sharing my skills but also continuously learning from the amazing people and cultures I encounter along the way.

I have always been fascinated by trees, by their symbolism of great wisdom, being deeply rooted yet reaching to the infinite skies. They live to witness decades and sometimes centuries of their surroundings, and if you tap into your inner self and connect with them, you can feel this wisdom and want to share it too. I have many a time sat on the top of hills, rocks, mountains and been awed by the magnificence you can see beyond the treetops and canopies, wondering what could possibly be on the other side and how to get there.

We tend as a species to focus on what we see directly in front of us, very often blindfolded because of our circumstances and past. We forget to take a breath, to stop a moment to connect with nature, to lift our chins and see beyond what is perceivable. Such as trees, it is important to stay rooted, but also crucial to reach up to greater heights, to learn, to grow, to create, to fly!

Beyond Treetops” stood out as the evident choice for my business name. I have always been passionate about wildlife and conservation, and pursuing my career in this field is important to me.

I am a confident person, with strong interpersonal skills and great team spirit. I deal well with being thrown in at the deep end and facing challenges and issues in adverse conditions. I have a great attention to detail and am very organised. I genuinely care for the future of wildlife, people, and the planet. I am not afraid of hard work and will go to great lengths to help make the world a better place, always with peace, respect, and love in my heart!

“The process of learning and connecting with trees insures our longevity and places us in a position of higher vision. This statement is essential in experiencing the broader connectivity of thought, manifestation, and the cycles of life. Trees reinforce this statement because they visually convey the importance of drawing correlations between the seen and the unseen aspects of life, as a catalyst for self-development and collective awareness.”
